She said she didn't have a full length mirror, and didn't realize how badly she needed one until she saw herself backstage looking like "something right off of Hee-Haw". Iris delivered some wonderful self-deprecating deadpan stage banter, in her delightful slow southern drawl.

She slowed the tempo down noticeably each time, never misplaying the chord, just being very very careful about it! She did have some trouble hitting one chord on "Easy's Getting Harder Every Day". She alternated guitar playing styles between strumming with a flatpick, and Travis-picking with a thumb pick. I didn't realize how good of a guitar player she is until seeing her in person. Iris accompanied herself admirably on guitar and grand piano.

I'm not sure if it was because the piano was too loud or her voice was too weak in the lower registers, but the mix could have been a little better. On some of her piano songs it was hard to hear her voice. The Blue Note is a small boxy old theatre, it reminds me of a smaller version of Liberty Hall in Lawrence. Unfortunately there is not a crystal clear shot of the bridge.įriday June 25, 2004, The Blue Note Columbia, MO I can almost make out the T-shaped bridge cover which would definitely nail it as the Tricone model. Two of the three characteristics of this model are clearly visible on the video: the slotted head and the distinctive grid pattern soundholes on upper body. The best snapshots are shown here and John appears to be playing a National Tricone roundneck. Frost's head gets in the way of the stage right camera, and Yoko is holding a piece of paper (the lyrics?), which partially blocks the center camera view. Unfortunately there are no clear views of John's dobro. On the David Frost show from Januhe played "John Sinclair".

Next I found a home-made DVD on eBay which was a compilation of several of John's early 70's TV talk show appearances. But the VHS was of such poor quality that I couldn't even make out what he was playing! Audio from this show was culled for the boxed set (and the newly released "Acoustic"). Although the event was filmed, the footage was never been officially released. I found a bootleg VHS of the famous December 1971 Ann Arbor rally for John Sinclair. I've been obsessed with finding a picture of John playing bottle neck slide dobro since first hearing "John Sinclair" on the Lennon boxed set.

The difference in drug delivered is insignificant, but such a small change in strength would have stuck out like a sore thumb and would have easily prevented this error from ever occurring. Where is the oversight? Did nobody forsee this? If FDA had simply required that Carvedilol tablets should be 12mg and 24mg instead of 12.5 and 25, the problem would have been avoided. In fact, many of us were taught in school that beta-blockers are contra-indicated in CHF. ACE inhibitors are first line drugs for CHF, not beta-blockers. When we see a patient with CHF we expect them to be on Captopril, not Carvedilol. The Carvedilol and Captopril mixup is the latest in this type of error. Name mixups are especially problematic for drugs with similar names AND strengths, older examples are: But many of the mixups between drugs with similar sounding names could be avoided by FDA and the drug companies who spew out new drugs without considering the impact on dispensing pharmacists. Medication errors are probably inevitable, after all, to err is human. I don't remember her exact set list, but here is a list of most of the songs: The row of seats in front of us was missing, probably used for the mixing board for bigger shows. We had perfect seats, upper balcony center section, third row. Tuesday September 7, 2004, Liberty Hall Lawrence, KS
